Operation

Pythagoras' theorem — koumadlo 40 × 60 cm

How it works

What happens at the Koumio® board

Children assemble and shift the pieces until they see that the squares on the two shorter sides add up exactly to the square on the longest one.

a² + b² = c²

The relationship stops being an abstract formula and becomes something they have understood through their own hands.

Curiosity questions

Keep going — scan the QR code

Every Koumio® board comes with simple instructions and a closing challenge that leads the child to use what they have just found out. Scanning the QR code opens the solution and follow-up questions.

What children take away

  • Genuine understanding of the principle

  • Better spatial imagination

  • Geometry connected to practice

  • The experience that maths can be discovered by playing
